Avoid Toxic Bug Sprays While You Have HCG in Your System
Are you in the middle of a round of the HCG Diet or do you have it penciled in for later this summer? Let’s talk about your skin, which happens to be the largest organ in the body. When a person has HCG in his/her system, the skin absorbs so much more than when HCG is not present. Why? Because HCG, the pregnancy hormone, instructs the body to acquire vitamins and nutrients every way that it can in order to provide for a growing baby. Dr. Simeons warns us in his manuscript by saying that when HCG is present, cosmetics, lotions, etc. applied to the skin can cause an HCG dieter to stall or gain weight because the body will absorb the fats and oils in these products just as if they had been eaten. Let’s think about that for a minute…
If my body is absorbing what I put on my skin…what about bug spray? I’m no scientist, but if the largest organ in my body is in a super absorbent state because I’m on HCG, I probably shouldn’t be spraying toxic chemicals on it.
The following are 6 natural things you can do to ward off pesky critters when you’re on HCG, whether you’re strolling through the woods or spending a relaxing evening on the patio.
- After the meat is off the grill, throw some sage or rosemary leaves over the coals. This will help to keep mosquitoes away.
- Apply baby oil to exposed skin. Baby oil is allowed on the HCG Diet since it is one of the few oils that the skin cannot absorb because the molecules are too large.
- Combine one cup of water with a tablespoon of corn-syrup-free, imitation vanilla extract in a spray bottle. Spraying this on will repel insects that like to bite (mosquitoes, flies). This should not affect your results on the HCG Diet.
- Eat salad dressing or meat marinade made with apple cider vinegar or rub apple cider vinegar on your skin. Bugs don’t like it!
- Avoid using personal care items with fragrances since bugs are naturally attracted to fruit and flowers.
- Steep any combination of basil, rosemary and mint like you were brewing a pot of tea. Pour the mixture into a spray bottle and store it in your refrigerator. Spritz on as needed while you enjoy the outdoors.
After you’ve progressed to the Maintenance Phase/P3 and the HCG is out of your system, there are more options for repelling bugs naturally since there are many natural oils that are every bit as effective as conventional chemical pesticides.
Good luck on your HCG weight loss and have a lovely summer!
