What Drinks are Allowed on the HCG Diet?
The only drinks allowed on the HCG Diet are coffee and tea.
Plain, black coffee, basic black tea, and basic green tea are the only beverages listed in Dr. Simeons’ manuscript aside from water. If you choose to have any drinks not allowed on the HCG Diet they can wreak havoc on your weight loss if you make the wrong choices.
The most important thing to remember when it comes to choosing coffee and tea on the VLCD of the HCG Diet is to KEEP IT SIMPLE. When coffee or tea is “flavored,” it should be a big red flag. When something is flavored, it has had something added to it like a natural or artificial flavor, an extract, or a sugar or artificial sweetener. And of course, none of these additions are allowed in Phase 2.
To keep yourself safe from stall-causing coffees and teas, simply read the ingredient list on the back of the package. If the ingredients list anything more than just “coffee” (Arabica coffee, Robusta coffee, etc.) or “tea” (Green tea, Black tea, Oolong tea, etc.), it probably isn’t a good idea.
But don’t worry, if you’re looking for some extra flavor in your coffee and tea, there’s always stevia! Although there are “natural flavors” in the flavored stevias we carry, we have tested them to know they don’t affect weight loss on the HCG Diet. So, don’t take chances with your weight loss. Just add a few drops of 100% HCG Diet-approved Chocolate, English Toffee, Hazelnut, Berry, or Valencia Orange Stevia in your coffee or tea to keep your taste buds satisfied.
